About Hyperwords
Hyperwords is a free Firefox dictionary and reference add-on with an amazing variety of uses that are described in this 2 minute video. For student use, the most useful features will likely be:
- look up a word's definition
- look up a word's Wikipedia entry
- search for the word on Google, Wolfram Alpha or a variety of other places
- search for images or maps related to the selection
- copy the selection in a variety of ways
- convert selection to its equivalent (e.g. money, temperature, distances)
- translate the selection into a different language
- share the selection using email
Installing Hyperwords

Download Hyperwords and follow installation instructions on your screen. |

Once Hyperwords is installed, you will find it in your list of add-ons. |

Click on Hyperwords in the Add-on list and you can disable or uninstall Hyperwords if it's causing trouble. |

You can also click on Options to configure its many features. You can set HyperWords to work just by selecting the text, by selecting the text and then pointing to the little round icon, or simply by right-clicking. |
Using Hyperwords

By default, HyperWords is set to work by selecting a word and then clicking the little round icon that appears. You can also right-click and choose HyperWords to access a large menu of choices. |
